Walkway Project

Great news everyone! It looks like the walkway project is in the final stages of completion. There is only one more piling to piling joint left to complete. After this last joint is attached all that is left is putting a fresh deck on the top. It might sound easy now but that’s not how it started out. In fact, the whole project would have gone undone if it weren’t for the determination of the people who made it happen.

Dave Carlson thinks the project will be 100% completed by July 4th. It will be so good to see the last of that dark brown surface go and the sound footing of the new deck appear. It's amazing considering that some of that lumber weighs a ton and had to be installed over the water.

Club Cam

For those of you who have always wanted to check on your boat and see the weather at the same time from the comfort of your living room year round, your wants have finally been answered. The HMYC club cam is now online.

The muscle behind this, George, wants you to know that the camera is set up to stream to 10 connections simultaneously and time out after 10 minutes of viewing. He goes on to say “dream a little, then.....get off the website and get back to work!!”  After viewing the cam for yourself you'll see what he means; it’s much better then working.

HMYC.net

The club website is set up to meet your yacht club needs from where ever you are on a computer. Maybe you want to look up the weather where your boat is; did you want radar or satellite. How about plan your trip using the tide charts one click away, or get a streaming view of your boat while you pretend to sit on the dock looking at it. What ever your boating needs are HMYC.net is here to help in what ever way it can to make your experience with the club more enjoyable.

The site could use some more content. At this time the site is not set up to have people log in and leave comments. But there is a very simple solution to this, just email whatever you want posted to: post@hmyc.net and it will be posted. Please include what section of the site you want it posted to or it will be put in the most logical place automatically. It could be pictures you took on a trip while on your boat, a thought you had about the club you wanted to share good, bad, or ugly, it could be a link to a great sailing video you watched, a tip on an easer way to fix something, a great idea for a party at the club, the list goes on because the sky is the limit. I’m sure the other members will want to read anything you have to share. Also if you find yourself needing a particular link or certain information you can send your request to the site at: info@hmyc.net and it will be handled in the order it is received. Thank you and have a nice day.
